The US President’s sudden change in stance
In a sudden change of stance, US President Donald Trump hints at scepticism. He said that he doubts if Putin wants to end his war in Ukraine, expressing new scepticism that a peace deal can be reached.
Only a day earlier, though, in an interview, Mr. Trump had said Ukraine and Russia were “very close to a deal.”
At least 49 dead in the past 24 hours from the Israeli strikes
An airstrike in a neighbourhood in western Gaza City early on Saturday morning killed at least 10 people.
A similar attack reported on Friday killed at least 23 people as well. Gaza’s Health Ministry confirmed the numbers.
Israel ended a ceasefire with Hamas last month and has vowed to continue the war until all the hostages are returned and Hamas is destroyed or disarmed.
