Car drives into the Vancouver street festival crowd. 11 casualties reported.
A 30-year-old man was arrested, and murder charges were filed. Claims of terrorism were, however, dismissed.
In a social media post, the Vancouver Police Department said that the vehicle entered the street at 8:14 pm on Saturday and struck people attending the Lapu Lapu Day festival.
Israeli jets strike Beirut
Israeli jets strike Beirut’s southern suburbs for the third time. It said it was an attack on Hezbollah and its infrastructure and was not targeted at civilians.
In a statement following the strike, the Israeli military said it targeted a precision-guided missile at the storage facility for the Hezbollah group.
Israel added that it had urged the residents to move 300m away from the site before the strike.
Fighter jets were heard, and gunfire was shot into the air to warn residents and urged them to evacuate.
Zelenskyy dismissed Russia’s claims of the liberation of Kursk
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine has not been kicked out of the Kursk region.
After the claim of the Kursk region coming under Moscow, Zelenskyy on Sunday said that Ukraine’s army was still fighting in the region.
“Our military continues to perform tasks in the Kursk and Belgorod region—we are maintaining our presence on Russian territory,” he said in his evening address this Sunday.
